Neighborhoods
Scottsdale is loosely divided into four areas: North Scottsdale, South Scottsdale, Old Town(Downtown), and Central.
South Scottsdale
Long considered the working class area, South Scottsdale has slowly been gentrifying. This part of town contains a wide array of night life, and is also the art center of the city. The median home resale price is approximatively $291,000. Arizona State University is also located here, which has resulted in many international businesses setting up offices in the area.
Old Town
Old town is considered a “posh” part of town, with a plethora of night life, restaurants, high-end shopping malls and art galleries. In fact, it is home to the Scottsdale Square Fashion Mall, which is in the top 20 of the United State’s largest malls.
Central:
Central Scottsdale, or Shea Corridor, is populated by homes mostly built in the 70′s. It also contains many resorts and several very highly sought after communities such as Gainy and McCormick Ranches.
Northern: Northern Scottsdale is by far the most elite real estate, with some homes costing upwards of 5 million dollars and beyond.
